Bestlite BL7 wall light, chrome – classic reading light with a Bauhaus look
Bestlite BL7 wall light, chrome: Bauhaus design

Design
With its functional, streamlined design language the BL7 wall light from Bestlite is a symbol of elegant objectivity. It exudes the charm of the famous Bauhaus school as its designer Robert Dudley Best was a keen Bauhaus enthusiast. Due to its classic and purist design the Bestlite BL7 serves as an elegant eye-catcher that adds that special something to any wall. A careful processing of selected materials additionally refines the sophisticated look of the BL7. The wall bracket and the lamp shade (except the bone china variant) are made of powder-coated aluminium, the wall light’s arm is made of glossy, chrome-plated stainless steel. The lamp shade is available in a variety of colours.
The works of Robert Dudley Best who was inspired by the Bauhaus style were at first a particularly popular solution for car repair shops. They represented a visual highlight without pushing their way to the foreground; additionally, they improved the working conditions with their target-oriented light. A source of inspiration for the Bestlite BL7 wall light were also the designs by artists such as Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier whose works Best already attentively studied in 1925 at the International Exposition in Paris. The Bestlite luminaires experienced a sensational boom and became icons thanks to an incident that had an immense effect: the fact that the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill placed the table lamp on his desk in Whitehall had an invaluable promotional value for the BL table lamp and triggered an outright hysteria in Great Britain. In 1984, Robert Dudley Best died as one of the best-known British designers of the 20th century.

BL7 wall lights, chrome: adjustable reading light for the bedroom and the living room
With its adjustable light directed downwards the Bestlite BL7 offers comfortable reading light, for instance, in a bedroom. Installed above the bed, it supplies individually adjustable light for those who enjoy reading in the evening. Here, the shade can be conveniently directed to wherever light is required by means of the ball-and-socket joint. Being a precise lighting assistant, the BL7 wall light is also ideally suited for installation behind the sofa or an armchair in the living room. The elegant light source also cuts a fine figure outside of the home: owing to its charismatic Bauhaus look it is perfectly suited for industrial application, for instance, in hotels or restaurants.
